Upstate New York has some of the highest taxes in the nation, but is that the real reason your broke all the time? It's got something to do with it, the pay scale in the Capital Region is pathetic and our politicians don't give two shits. Let's look at rent in the area, how about a 2 bedroom located in Colonie, this ranges from 900 to 1500 per month with nothing included. How are you suppose to raise a family if your single, or divorced? It takes 2 incomes just to get by! Do you ever wonder why so many people leave New York at a young age? Take a look at their Facebook pages and see how they're making it. It doesn't happen here, the hourly wage doesn't reflect the REAL economy. If your making 20.00 an hour you would think it's not a bad salary? The truth is you are scraping by just to pay the bills, upstate new york is one of the worst places to live in the United States. Remember years ago your parents would tell you to get a job with the state or federal government because having a pension should be a top priority? Listen to what I am telling you, chances are you'll be working till your 70 and you might be living with your mom and dad now.
I have a close friend that's in his 50's that went back to college in his 40's by the time he's done paying his loans off he will be dead! The main reason he did this was to make money from getting a promotion he never received at his job, so he's fucked! So were telling you don't go back to school later in life, your only fucking yourself and your family. Why would you want to take a huge loan out while your in your 40's? You might as well jump off a bridge, it might be feasible to try this in another state but not in New York. Chances are you haven't gotten a raise in a long time, or your health insurance went through the roof or you got laid off, and if I was a betting man your in a job that completely sucks and your boss is a fucking idiot! Your not going to save money while living in New York I don't care what you tell me, unless your a millionaire or someone left you money in their will. If you have the chance to move it's a no brainer!
The Capital District has one gem and that is Saratoga, the rest is really up for debate. You can come back and visit your family ya know!
So what are the real reasons your not saving money in the Capital Region? Well let's make some educational guesses here. Every time you go out to dinner the bill exceeds 100.00 or when you go to the movies it's at least a 50.00 bill. You probably need a new car but your trying to go without having a car payment and doing what you can to keep it alive for a few more years because your trying to either save for a house or a wedding? Maybe you've gone on a vacation recently and had the time of your life, but when you got home you couldn't believe how much money you pissed away and should of used that dough to put towards something else. It's not you it's living in NYS. The government here is pathetic, just look at all the politicians on the take-look at the ones that got arrested the greedy fuckers! These are the people you elected! How bad do you like taking it in the ass? You must love it because your still here aren't you. Get the fuck out of the Capital District as soon as you can. Your bills will be less anywhere else well maybe not California. Do yourself a favor get all the credit cards you can get take massive cash advances from all of them and hide it, then claim bankruptcy! This gives you 7 full years to save money for whatever it is that you want. Don't bother working for the state or a local town it's not worth it. Years ago the state would put towards your pension well not anymore, these new tiers are fucking you over royally! My advice to you is to get the fuck out of New York and start drinking heavily!
